Boulder, Colo. (March 16, 2016)— Gaia (gaia.com) and Yoga Journal (yogajournal.com) have named Taylor O’Sullivan and Tarah Stuht as the ambassadors for this summer’s national Live Be Yoga Tour.

“We had so many inspiring yogis apply to be ambassadors on the Live Be Yoga Tour; but Taylor and Tarah truly stood out,” says Carin Gorrell, editor in chief of Yoga Journal. “Their enthusiasm and passion for yoga and the yoga lifestyle are authentic and contagious, and they emanate the joy and calm we all hope to develop through our yoga practice.”

The Live Be Yoga Tour will also discover talented up-and-coming teachers and spotlight some of the country’s well-known greats, including Gaia teachers David Magone (gaia.com/bio/david-magone) and Kate Potter (gaia.com/bio/kate-potter), and international favorites like Kathryn Budig and Kino MacGregor, in addition to highlighting top locations for yoga practice, retreats, and teacher trainings.

The Tour begins at YJ Live! NYC in New York City on April 8 (yjevents.com/ny) with a number of special tour events, including an exclusive Shanti Sweat Class with Gaia teachers Rodney and Colleen Saidman Yee (gaia.com/bio/rodney-yee) and the ambassadors. The tour is visiting more than 20 cities across the nation, with stops in Boston, Washington, DC, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and dozens more cities and towns, ending in Colorado on September 25 at YJ Live! (yjevents.com/ep/).

“Both curious and passionate, Taylor and Tarah are perfectly suited to uncover the story of yoga across North America for the very first time,” said Jaymi Bauer, Gaia chief marketing officer. “This will be a pivotal journey in understanding the influence of yoga today, both on and off the mat.”

The tour comes on the heels of the recently released Yoga in America Study, conducted by Yoga Journal and Yoga Alliance (yogajournal.com/yogainamericastudy/), which showed there are currently more than 35 million yoga practitioners in the United States. To capture on camera what yoga in America looks like today, Tarah and Taylor, along with a videographer, will be road-tripping across the country, visiting yoga studios, festivals, and events in major cities and small towns.

Taylor and Tara were chosen from an open call for tour ambassadors for which more than 500 men and women from more than 25 countries and 40 states, and spanning ages 18 to 70, applied.

“This tour represents a mission I’ve been on for years: To spread yoga and allow others to fully understand what it means to embrace a yoga lifestyle,” says Tarah, a food-lover, photographer, and yoga teacher from Seattle. “Yoga has such an impact on those who practice it; everyone deserves an introduction.”

Adds Taylor, an adventure-seeking yogi, traveler, and storyteller from Los Angeles, “If you can’t live longer, live deeper. We’re only on this planet for a short while; I intend to live passionately and to positively impact as many lives as possible.”
